Here's a challenge!  This Sunday we are looking a bit at what Jesus says when he says we are salt and light.  It would be really interesting to have a sort of Salt and Light Log of comments here that records where we have been salt or light (or if that's too threatening :) where you have seen someone else be salt and light) i.e. examples of where God has worked through you to help someone else... Go for it!

  1. I am involved in serveral outside the church groups. each one says I am not able to talk about religion but people know that I am a christain as I can say so when i get time to speak at these meetings. Also they know becuase I am not available on Sunday Mornings. this has allowed me to bring one person so far to the Lord, and given me plenty of opportunity to tell others. Aslo I am involve in several health services, These they always ask me first, did I go to church this week. Did I read that bible that day. Did I pray. And often they ask "did I get anwers to my prayers" This leaves me with a great chance to tell others about our Heavenly Father. When I was away for 6 months the place I was in new I was a christian because I would go to church and bible study and they would catch me reading the bible. I had many women ask me questions about my relationship with God and I got the chance to pray for many of them. I still pray for them and the other groups I am involved in

  3. I have a long time family friend who became a Christian just before his wife passed away. When I was a child I always asked her if it made her sad that her husband didn't go to church with her. She said "yes" but she didn't stop praying that one day he would accept the Lord. When he did she was so overjoyed and told me to never give up praying for friends and family who are yet to have a personal relationship with God. Deb

  4. My wife, Juelz would never tell anyone, but she helps out so many people in practical ways. Whenever she hears someone who may be struggling to put food on the table she's cooking an extra meal. Another mother who needs a break from her kids, she's offering to baby sit. A shoulder to cry on and she's there! She does it out of a practical concern or compassion without ulterior motives but it often opens up conversation about faith.

Yes, actions do speak louder than words, but more importantly, our words speak much louder with action.
